DB10 — 2014
The DB10 is a car unique in Aston Martin’s history: designed specifically for the film Spectre, released in 2015, it would never be sold to the public and remains limited to 10 examples — of which 8 were used for filming and 2 are kept in private collections. Designed by Marek Reichman as a futuristic vision of what a compact sports Aston Martin could be, it adopted taut, aggressive lines inspired by the marque’s concept cars, with a 4.7-litre V8 borrowed from the V8 Vantage. Its chase scene through the streets of Rome remains one of the most spectacular automotive sequences in the Bond saga.
One of the DB10 examples was auctioned by Christie’s in 2016 in aid of a charity, reaching £2.4 million — a record for a modern-era Bond car. Its absolute rarity, its cinematic status and the fact that it is not available in any commercial form make it the most inaccessible collector’s item in the whole of Aston Martin’s history, even for the marque’s wealthiest customers.
