DB Mark III

The DB Mark III represented the culmination of all the research and development accumulated since the DB2. Recognisable by its restyled, smile-shaped front grille, it adopted Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. Its 2.9-litre engine produced 162 bhp in DBA form, while the DBB version with triple Weber carburettors reached 178 bhp.

Its association with James Bond — Ian Fleming drove a DB Mark III himself and mentions it in his novels — gives it a special place in the Aston Martin legend. Built in 551 examples, it marked the end of the Feltham era and the transition to Newport Pagnell and the DB4/DB5/DB6 models that would go on to conquer the world.
