About

Vantage MkII — 2018

The new generation of the Vantage, launched in 2018, is the most sporting Aston Martin in the range, the most focused on pure performance. Powered by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo AMG V8 in its early versions — later raised to 665 bhp — it adopts a philosophy clearly oriented towards pure performance. Its chassis, developed specifically with the engine set back towards the centre of the car to optimise weight distribution, offers agility and steering precision unprecedented for the marque. The 8-speed ZF gearbox and the electronic differential allow the power to be deployed with formidable efficiency.

On Aston Passion, the Vantage MkII sparked passionate debate at its launch — the front end considered divisive by some members, the headlight “eyes” perceived as too aggressive compared with the marque’s tradition. The stylistic revisions made since then have partly calmed these discussions. The F1 Edition, developed in partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team, and the track-focused AMR Pro version are the most extreme variants of a now well-established range.
